Hello, I'm Lydia
Illustrator, print-maker, art lover, full-time dreamer. Based in Surrey, UK.
Born on Earth Day, I've always felt an affinity with nature, especially the sun and the moon. I've been drawing little cabins for years, they always felt to me like an antidote to the chaos of modern life. A way to escape, my own tiny slice of calm.
A few years ago I started turning them into gifts for my goddaughters, niece and nephew, and now I want to share them with more folks. So far, the sun always seems to be sleeping in my art – hence the name.
All my work is designed by me, and starts off as a scrappy little drawing in my sketchbook. Everything is then handmade and finished so it feels unique, whimsical and wonderfully analogue. I hope it spreads a little joy and light in the world, and brings the same sense of peace to others that it does for me.
